I used to think being a good parent required some sort of superpower\u2014or divine calling\u2014or endless wisdom I didn\u2019t have. There\u2019s so much pressure to \u201cget it right\u201d that sometimes we search for something beyond ourselves, something that can tell us we\u2019re enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the truth is, I don\u2019t need to invoke a higher power to raise my child well. I just need to be here. Not perfectly, not with all the answers, but fully present. Attuned. Willing to listen more than I speak. Willing to repair when I mess up. Willing to grow alongside the little person I\u2019m raising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Grounded presence is a quiet kind of power. It looks like slowing down instead of snapping. Holding space when they\u2019re overwhelmed. Letting them be messy, curious, loud, unsure\u2014just like we all are sometimes. It\u2019s choosing connection over control, and trust over fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nature shows me this every day. Trees don\u2019t pray to grow; they simply reach for light and dig their roots deep. Animals don\u2019t strive to be \u201cperfect parents\u201d; they just respond to the needs of their young with instinct and care. I\u2019m no different. I can trust the natural wisdom in me. The part that knows how to hold, how to nurture, how to love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
