Sometimes there’s abundance—things flow, doors open, bills get paid with ease. And other times, there’s scarcity—tight months, hard choices, and a sense of holding your breath.

But both seasons are part of the rhythm. Just like nature has dry spells and rainy ones, winter and harvest, our financial lives will have high tides and low ones. That doesn’t mean we’re failing. It means we’re alive, navigating a world that isn’t always predictable.

When money is flowing, it’s easy to feel safe and confident. When it’s not, it can stir up shame or fear. But if we can stop seeing scarcity as a personal flaw and start viewing it as part of a larger cycle, we can respond with more kindness toward ourselves. We can plan when we’re able, stretch what we have when we must, and keep trusting that change will come again.

This mindset doesn’t magically fix our finances, but it can soften the panic and restore a bit of perspective. We’re not machines meant to produce endlessly—we’re living beings moving through seasons. And in every season, we can make choices rooted in care, not fear.

There’s something grounding about remembering that money, like everything else in life, moves in cycles.
