“Jesus answered, ‘This man was born blind so that God\u2019s power could be shown in him.’\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Have you watched the video I shared? It\u2019s of a man singing beautifully, but here\u2019s what makes it extraordinary\u2014he\u2019s blind. A blind man, leading praise and worship with such grace and power. His voice carries so much anointing, and the fact that he is blind makes it all the more captivating. It reminds me of this verse, John 9:3, where Jesus explains why the man was born blind: \u201cSo that God\u2019s power could be shown in him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s easy to question why people are born with disabilities or why some of us face hardships that seem unfair. Why would a loving God allow such things? Didn\u2019t He declare all creation good? The answer is clear in this verse. Those challenges and difficulties are not a punishment; they are opportunities for God\u2019s glory to be revealed in our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If that man leading worship could see, perhaps his story wouldn\u2019t be as impactful. Many talented people lead worship, but the testimony of a blind man who chooses to praise God in his condition demonstrates God\u2019s power in a unique way. It is a reminder that no matter what we face, God can use our struggles to bring glory to His name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You may be wondering about your own life. Maybe you\u2019re dealing with sickness, rejection, heartbreak, financial struggles, or family challenges. You might be asking, \u201cWhy me? What did I do to deserve this?\u201d But remember what Jesus said in John 9:3: \u201cIt is not this man\u2019s sin or his parents\u2019 sin that made him blind. This man was born blind so that God\u2019s power could be shown in him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your hardships are not punishments. They are the backdrop for God\u2019s power to shine through your life. Think of the blind man leading worship. He could have chosen to live in bitterness, but instead, he\u2019s using his voice to glorify God. His blindness, rather than being a limitation, has become the very thing that makes his testimony so powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even in your own life, those painful moments, those scars, those losses\u2014none of them are wasted. They are there for a reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have a dear friend who grew up in Kibera. She lived in abject poverty, surrounded by flying toilets and open sewage. Her childhood was filled with hardship, yet today she holds a significant position in an international organization. What makes her story so powerful is where she began. The contrast between her past and her present is a testimony to God\u2019s power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another friend of mine came from similar circumstances, growing up so poor that she couldn\u2019t even afford shoes. Today, she owns one of the best international schools in Kenya. Her story inspires everyone who hears it, not because of her success alone, but because of the journey she took to get there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My aunt also grew up in extreme poverty, never wearing shoes as a child. Today, she is one of the most successful women in Kenya. Her life is proof that God can take the most challenging circumstances and turn them into something extraordinary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s change our mindset. Instead of viewing our struggles as evidence that God doesn\u2019t love us, let\u2019s see them as opportunities for His power to be revealed. That rejection you faced, that illness you\u2019re battling, that financial difficulty\u2014it\u2019s not the end. It\u2019s a setup for God to show His power in your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One day, when you look back, you will see how every painful experience, every scar, and every broken piece was part of God\u2019s divine plan to glorify Himself through you. Your life, your story, will inspire others to see what God can do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, even in the midst of your struggles, trust in Him. Know that God is writing a story with your life, one that will bring glory to His name. Stay the course, hold onto hope, and remember\u2014your scars are proof of His work in you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
