“He led Israel safely through, His faithful love endures forever. But he hurled Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea. His faithful love endures forever.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This passage is a powerful reminder of God\u2019s enduring love and protection. He led Israel safely through the Red Sea while Pharaoh and his army, pursuing closely behind, were swallowed by the same sea. The Israelites passed through safely, but the sea became a trap for their enemies. This contrast stirred deep reflection in me. How could the same sea offer salvation to one group and destruction to another?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It reminded me of two women in a movie I watched yesterday. One woman lived recklessly, but eventually, she came to know God, and He protected her even during her chaotic life. The other woman lived a disciplined and preserved life but never sought God. In the end, the one who knew God passed safely through life\u2019s challenges, while the other\u2014despite her goodness\u2014was caught in overwhelming difficulties, symbolised by the Red Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This raised a question: how could someone who seemed good end up without God\u2019s protection while the reckless person found mercy? Today\u2019s scripture answers that. It\u2019s not about how “good” we are but about whether we know and acknowledge God. Proverbs 3:6 reminds us, \u201cSeek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.\u201d God\u2019s protection is reserved for those who walk with Him, even when their past is messy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I reflected on my life and realised how true this is. I\u2019ve faced many challenges, but I\u2019ve survived because I knew God. Psalm 34:19 says, \u201cThe righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.\u201d Knowing God doesn\u2019t mean avoiding challenges, but it means walking through them with His guidance. Without Him, life\u2019s trials can overwhelm us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I was younger, I visited a church in Kawangware. A supposed prophet there spoke terrible things over my future. Even at the age of 20, I felt the Spirit of discernment telling me something wasn\u2019t right. My brother and I never went back. Looking back, I see how God protected us from being misled. Others haven\u2019t been so fortunate, like the woman in the movie whose church introduced her to witchcraft and spiritual oppression through false teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Being in Christ doesn\u2019t shield us from challenges, but it ensures that we are not consumed by them. Isaiah 43:2 declares, \u201cWhen you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.\u201d Without Christ, these waters will overwhelm us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m deeply moved when I reflect on the two women in the movie. The preserved girl lived a good life by her own understanding. She relied on her knowledge and strength to protect herself, yet it wasn\u2019t enough to shield her from harm. On the other hand, the reckless woman, despite her chaotic life, had grown up in church as a child. That small seed of knowledge about God planted in her early years preserved and protected her, even during her darkest moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This contrast reminds me of Proverbs 14:12: \u201cThere is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.\u201d The good girl\u2019s way seemed right in her own eyes, but without God, it lacked the divine covering she needed. Meanwhile, the reckless woman\u2019s connection to God\u2014even if distant\u2014opened a door for His mercy and protection to manifest in her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is why it\u2019s not about how good we are in our own strength but about who we place our trust in. Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, \u201cBut blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water.\u201d It\u2019s God\u2019s protection, not our self-reliance, that carries us through life\u2019s challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Choose to build your life on Christ, the solid foundation. Anything else, no matter how well-meaning, is like sand that washes away when the storms of life come (Matthew 7:24-27).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, my dear brothers and sisters, please find a Christ-centred church near you or come to ours. Get a spiritual father who will teach you the true Word of Christ. Surrender your life to Him and start living for Jesus. Everything else will fall into place in His time. And if it doesn\u2019t, come and ask me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
