One consistent prayer in my life has been thanking God for creating us to be completely dependent on Him. He designed us to rely on Him fully, and that dependence is a gift.

In today’s world, independence is celebrated—everyone’s goal is to be self-sufficient. Yet with God, the worst thing we can do is try to show Him we don’t need Him. To act as though we are capable on our own. God created us to depend on Him completely. I emphasise COMPLETELY because anything less leaves us falling short of His perfect design for us.

Look at Adam and Eve. They attempted to be independent from God by eating the forbidden fruit, and it caused their separation from Him. God desires a different kind of relationship—one where we lean on Him with all our hearts and trust Him entirely as our Father.

This truth reminds me of my relationship with my 4-year-old daughter. She depends on me for everything, but she knows she must tell me what she wants. When she expresses her needs, I’m happy to provide them. If she wants to go to the supermarket, she tells me, and I’ll take her. If she wants a piece of cake, she lets me know, and I’ll make it happen. She trusts that I’ll provide, and her asking allows me to meet her needs joyfully.

In the same way, God is delighted when we bring our requests to Him. He is eager to provide for us when we ask. Just as my daughter doesn’t hesitate to ask me for a new dress, I don’t hesitate to ask my Father, Jehovah Jireh, for the resources to provide for her. And I’ve been teaching her the same—to ask God for everything she needs because He loves us and delights in hearing from His children.

Returning to today’s verse, it reminds us that unless the Lord is at the centre of what we do, all our effort is wasted. Unless He blesses the womb, a couple labours in vain. I think of Abraham and Sarah, who waited nearly 100 years for a child, only to learn that unless the Lord grants it, all human effort is futile.

This verse also hits close to home for me. I had so many dreams about how my life would turn out, and yet here I am—single and with a child at this stage in life. I realise now that perhaps I spent years trying to control my life, only to discover I had been labouring in vain. It’s as though God is gently reminding me, “Let me build your life for you.” He knows the plans He has for me—plans to prosper me, not to harm me (Jeremiah 29:11).

Why carry the pressure of trying to do it all on your own? Recently, our bishop taught us about resting in God. What if you allowed God to take the wheel? To rest means trusting that God is the one building, creating, and orchestrating every part of your life. When He builds, He does it perfectly—better than we ever could.

If it’s your business, let God drive it. If it’s your family, let God create it. If it’s your career, marriage, friendships, or even your children, place them in God’s hands. He is El Elyon, the Most High, and He loves to create. Let Him create your life. Rest in the knowledge that He is lining up everything good for you.

When you trust in God, you will not be defeated. Nothing will fail when you wait on Him. Let Him build your life, and you will see His glory in ways you never imagined.

Have a blessed day.

Psalm 127:1 (NLT) says, “Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted.” This verse has […]

[2

post-2914","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-notes-from-life
["GET
