You Were Never Too Much

Posted on April 15, 2025 by Kate

You’ve probably been called too intense. Too emotional. Too loud. Too sensitive. Too ambitious. Too honest. Too complicated. Too… much.

And for a long time, you believed it. You believed that you needed to shrink, to filter yourself, to water down your magic just to be tolerated. You learned to speak softer, feel less, dream smaller—because the spaces you were in couldn’t hold the fullness of you.

But the truth is, you were never too much. You were just too powerful for the cage you were put in.

Some environments demand that you dim your light just to keep the peace. Some relationships ask you to abandon your truth just to be loved. And some systems are built to silence women who dare to be fully awake, deeply feeling, wildly alive. That doesn’t mean you were wrong for being all of who you are—it just means you were in the wrong cage.

You were designed for expansion. For real love, real expression, real depth. Not for confinement.

So when they said, “You’re too much,” what they really meant was, “I don’t know how to handle someone who refuses to live small.”

And that’s not your burden to carry.

You don’t have to perform for approval. You don’t have to stay in spaces that choke your voice. You don’t have to cut parts of yourself off just to fit into places that were never meant for your growth. You’re not too much.

You’re just finally ready to live outside the cage.
